We attended a farewell party at Aya's place yesterday. Another dear friend is leaving Copenhagen for good. Adila and family will be moving to Doha soon. sob sob sob..

A potluck party, so we each brought some food. I brought honey baked wings and agar2 gundil.

Honey baked wings, marinated with honey, oyster sauce, soya sauce, paprika and sesame oil. Senang kan..kalau nak cuba silakan..

I have not been updating the blog for 2 months. June was a great month afterall. I passed my danish pd3 module 4 and soon after we headed home to Singapore for 3½ weeks. It was indeed a short trip but all worthwhile.

Photos are not in order...i will try to update the blog as frequent as possible. Insya'allah.

Our dinner on Wednesday - Nasi goreng kampung, a malay styled fried rice. I added anchovies and cuttlefish ball and cut bird's eye chilies..hmmm nice and spicy and served with egg, inang2 and fried salted treadfin fish. Quick and easy meal.

Last Thursday i went to fetch Danish at Aya´s right after my class. Aya helped to babysit him since he is still recovering from chickenpox. Thank you so so much Aya. I guess this is the most difficult part when we do not have any family members around. We seek help from friend instead. Friends are like family to us...suka duka bersama...insyaallah. Ecehhh..jgn ter-emo pulak lynne.
Danish on the way home from aunty Aya´s. Non stop petpot2...hehee..biasa lah anakku kan terlebih friendly. Siap ngan luggage dia tu lagi...haha. What was inside the luggage? His lunch box, spare clothes and train set. Siap semua!

Back from Aya´s, ibu decided to make wonton for our dinner. The filling contains prawns, chicken, spring onions, water chestnut, a dash of sesame oil.

Wonton noodles served in steaming hot soup with shrimp wontons and garnished with spring onions. There are plenty of variations of this popular Cantonese dish, with different toppings and garnsihes. For example the soup and wontons in a separate bowl, the noodles being served dry, with the toppings and garnishes, dressed with sauce, dipping the noodles in the soup to eat it. Whatever your preference is, this dish is definitely irressitable. Another simple easy peasy dinner.

Assalammualaikum semua. Sorry for missing in action for a week. This is an outdated entry. I cooked Shabsuka, a Mediterranean cuisine last Wednesday. I would say this is a meaty version of kacang phool, also eaten with baguette. Senang and sedap..if you are tired of eating rice or noodles..give this one-dish meal a try!

Carrot cup cakes

I had a guest on Friday and so i made lasagne and carrot cup cakes. There are many variation of carrot cake. Many carrot cake recipes include optional ingredients, such as nuts, raisins, pineapple or coconut. As for me i made the simple version aka original version. hehehehee..ibu kan nak senang aje..janji sedap!

Carrot cake may be eaten plain, but it is commonly either glazed or topped with icing, cream cheese and chopped walnuts. I served my carrot cup cakes with cream cheese topping with shredded carrot. hahaha...stock walnuts kehabisan dahhhh...What matter most, the taste and creativity.

I kept postponing to make apam senyum @ apam mekar for weeks. The reason being i do not have any cute little mould for the apam but after so much thinking, i decided to use the cupcakes case instead.

Before kukus

Kuih apam not-too-sweet spongy cakes. A good kuih apam is the “split” at the top of the cake which some refer to it as the “smile”. Mine was not an excellent job. Some of my kuih apam senyum senget. lolz. Nevertheless kuih apam is an easy peasy malay delicacies..and most importantly yummy!

This is another outdated entry. Just bear with me ok..a little slow to update the blog. I have been busy for the past few days nursing my little princess who is down with fever and chickenpox. Alhamdulillah, she is recovering now.

Anyway back to this entry, i went out last week on Wednesday to Fisketorvet with Kak Ros, Za and the 2 lovely girls, Zahra and Sofea. We had buffet lunch at Cyprus.

our first time visiting the København zoological garden. It was approximately 15 mins drive from our house. Weather was so perfect to be out with your family and friends. We went with the Holmes and few other friends. It was afterall a great day.... The chubby ibu and my two lovely kids.

Made kuih bakar keledek for a farewell party last Saturday. Apart from this kuih, i made pineapple tart too. I have always in love with traditional malay delicacies. I believed in order to make a perfect traditional kuih, we have to kekalkan recipe lamanya dan cara membuatnya. Misalannya yang kukus harus dikukus..yang bakar sedap dibakar. That is my opinion lah kan..but of course now a days ramai yang suka ber-experiment...ada menjadi ada yang tidak..up to individual lah kan...ikut tekak masing2. Tekak ku tekak dulu2..hahahaha. Kuih bakar keledek aka bingka keledek ni tak cun melecun rupanya. Macam ala ala tak cantik nak masuk dalam majlis kan...but ku berserah aje lah bawak hari tu..alhamdulillah ada juga yang sudi makan. hehehe..syukur alhamdulillah.

Holte loppemarked (flea market)

The loppemarked is back again and dear hubby as usual super duper happy. He said this is one of the way for destressing. Ibu tak cerewet...nak pegi ku ikutkan aje...betul tak. So after my training in the gym, off we went to Holte loppemarked. I think this is one of the best loppemarked in København. Apparently all the booths are sold out. Hubby was looking for something specific and syukur alhamdulillah we got it at such a reasonable price. hehehe.. AND...the little hero stumble upon this..løbehjul. He instantly asked if he can have it. For just 20 kr, why not kan. Happy lah si bujang kecik ni..above pic he was still trying to get a grib on it.

one thing to be careful when you are at the loppemarked is to make sure you don´t end up buying others trash. Set in mind what you are looking for and always bargain - the temptations in flea market abound!!!

They looked tired..from school to home and out again to auntie Aya´s house cos ibu had to go to the hospital to visit bapak. Yes, dear hubby was admitted to the hospital due to hypertension. It was the most dramatic, tension, stressful and exhausted day for me but ALLAH gave me the strength to keep strong through out that day. Alhamdulillah hubby was being discharged the next day. He is still on medication and have to keep watch his diet.

Roti sosej for our breakfast on a beautiful sunday morning. Indeed such a lovely day today..no more winter jackets or boots...just light jacket on. Yeeehaaaaa...happy puppy!!! At first i thought its gonna be tough to pintal2 the roti sosej ni..but alhamdulillah tak lah susah sangat..akhirnya berjaya jugak eventhough not perfect but hey..no one is perfect in this world ok!!! Kira for first timer memintal roti ni kira acceptable lah yeeee... Fresh from the oven..simply yummylicious.

Its Monday again..

Like every other Monday, i left the house at 0800 and will only be home at 1630. Busy, tiring and rushing Monday but guess what..it´s all worthwhile, the moment I looked at the faces of my beloved ones. As usual i went to fetch Danish straight from school. We left the school together with Alexander and his mum. The two boys non stop talking to each other while waiting for the bus 3A. sempat snapped their photo. Cute kan..

Afterwhich we went to fetch Sofea from vuggestuen. I let the kids play at the courtyard for ½ hr. While the kids playing, ibu had a great time talking to our neighbours. It´s good to know your neighbours kan. In this building, memang my neighbours are all Danes. AND it felt good when they can understand your (broken) danish. lol..need lots and lots of practice bubu...its not easy..but i will keep trying. hahaha..

Reached home terus masak....menu on Monday - chicken rice penyet. I am enjoying my life..alhamdulillah can never ask for more. Thank u Allah.

lazing around

An outdated entry. Supposed to post this entry last Saturday but was not in the mood to update the blog. hehee. We were just lazing around, decided not to go anywhere. Perhap we felt too tired because the kids woke up as early as 0530 hrs and they eventually took a nap at 1400hrs. phewwwww... This was what i did at 0530 hrs. yes, doing revision while the kids watching teletubbies.

Sweet tooth...oh my!!!! Donuts for tea. Danish simply love it.

Happy sangat Danish dapat main ngan bicycle ni the other day. Danish has his own løbecykel but of course different. Løbecykel without paddel so its time he learn kan kan kan and insyallah in May he will be paddling to and fro school.

Last week on Thursday hubby and i had superb lunch at Sticks N Sushi. I like the salmon, crayfish with mango and avocado salad. Simply yummilicous. We shared the big bowl of salad, sushi and green tea. Hubby said, it was a treat for me for passing my module 3 test. Alhamdulillah..i am now in module 4 and insyallah the next test will be in June.

Today i decided to cook lamb bombay briyani and acar timun for dinner. Chicken soup for the kids. Dah lama tak makan acar timun ni.
Acar timun - a type of salad commonly in Indonesian, Malaysia and Singapore. Made of small chunks of cucumber, carrot, shallot which are pickled in sugar, vinegar and dried chillies. Simply easy to prepare.

Acar is commonly served as a condiment to be eaten with a main course. Jemput makan semua..

Both staying home today..macam nak runtuh rumah. The abang likes to provoke and the adik will be screaming. Macam peaceful kan both doing coloring but not for long. Adik started coloring the table instead of the book. Adoiii...pening pening. Extra work for ibu.

The only time ibu is able to do revision is when they are napping. 4 days to my exam..i am pretty nervous...

How time flies, my darling Sofea Dhaniyah is 19 months old. She started going to the vuggestue since August 2010 and she seems very happy there. I often received a positive feedback from the caretakers. It is really easy to look after her since she was a baby. My adorable, pretty angel..Ibu, bapak and abg Danish love you so so much.

There´s a saying - "Daughters are like flowers, they fill the world with beauty." I´m blessed to have a son and a daughter. Syukur alhamdulillah.

Cloudy Wednesday

It’s Cloudy Wednesday after few days of bright sunshine. Weather in Copenhagen is just unpredictable but whatever the weather might be, the daily activities still continues.

Danish has a doctor appointment earlier today, just a general yearly check-up. Dr Kate is happy with his developments. Eyes ok, Ears ok, heart ok, tummy ok, communication with the doctor ok, height and weight pun ok. Alhamdulillah.

Initial plan was to meet Sherry and Jah at National Museum yesterday around 1130-1200 hrs. Danish and Sofea pulak nap sampai kul 1400 hrs. Fikir punya fikir..macam tak puas for the kids to play at the museum if we were to go and leave after an hr, since dear hubby ku dah promised nak helped Haizan with something. So changed of plan, ibu went to training and then we went to Aya´s house aje. Berceloteh2 menguyah2 hampir kul 8 mlm baru balik tu.

Gado2 for our dinner yesterday. Missing the long beans and cabbage but still nice..sedap!!! (masuk bakul angkat sendiri) hahaha. Time flies too fast and its Friday again. Dear hubby is still on leave today so after drop off the kids to school, we decided to walk around. Took the train to Nørreport and jalan2. Best jugak. Bought some Japanese stuff at kinesisk købmand, lunch at Angkara and shopping.

Ibu cooked ayam percik but guess that will be for our meal tomorrow since hubby has dinner with his team. Bagus jugak esok tak payah masak kan. Anyway tomorrow ada lunch invitation too. Best best best...

A day trip to Malmo

We went to a fellow Singaporean house; Kak Yati in Trelleborg, Sweden yesterday. We decided to take the train and bus there. It was so much fun. Sesekali turun naik train and bus memang fun giler, wa cakap lu. More fun bila yang pergi semua yang best kakis.

The rest departed from Hovedbanegården whereas we decided to depart from Østerport since it is the nearest station. Danish especially was so excited and happy when we took the train. Yang bestnya both kids tak meragam. Ibu suka suka suka..

The guys (the bapak2)..Lars (Kak Yati's husband), Haizan and dear hubby ku. Entah apa yang dorang bincangkan pun tak tau..investment agaknya. hahhaa..

The ladies (kaum ibu). The food spread masyaallah punya lah banyak and obviously sedap teramat. Nasi minyak, daging briyani, ayam merah, udang masala and acar timun. Sedappppppppppppppp....and the dessert; marble muffin, banana cake and tiramisu. The tiramisu memang mavelous to the max. Specially made by Lars. Sedapppppppppppp...

Us on our way to the bus stop. The bus is once every hour so timing must be right. Kelam kabut lah jugak nak siapkan the two kids ni.

Our journey home took nearly 3 hours but it was so much fun. Terima kasih tuan and puan rumah kerana menjemput kami. Jumpa lagi...

Blessed Friday..

Hari Jumaat adalah hari kebesaran Islam bagi orang mukmin. Hari yang mulia ditentukan buat umat Muhammad SAW. Sesiapa yang berdoa pada hari Jumaat, ALLAH akan memakbulkan doanya. Amin.

Disini seperti jugak dimana2 negeri didunia ini...kaum lelaki akan berpusu2 ke masjid bagi menunaikan solat jumaat melainkan mereka ada tuntutan pekerjaan yang tidak membolehkan mereka melalukannya.

Today dear hubby is on leave and insyallah dia jugak dapat menunaikan solat jumaat. Alhamdulillah.

Dating with hubby

Mr hubby is on leave since yesterday so that we can spend time together without the kids. hehehee. So, after sending off the kids to school, we headed to Cut N Cool at Nørreport cos ibu wanted to have a new refreshing look. I definitely love my new hairdo..thanks hubby.

From there, hubby cakap terasa nak makan mussels ala thai..eh mengidam pulak so he made a stop at Fullhouse. We bought fresh mussels, fresh fish and few other stuff. Alang2 kat kat situ kan apa lagi beli aje lah. hehe

Ibu is making up the missing days...yeah it's my 2nd day of fasting and i have another couple more days to go. Insyallah will clear them by next week. Been feeling like having rojak petis for days so i decided to make it yesterday. Rojak petis with cucumber, tauhu, pineapples and char kway.

And baked cream cheese for our dessert. Simply sinfully yummilicious.

As for today...my menu will be baked pasta and sushi, insyaallah. For now, chilling out in the comfort of our home with my little hero. He is watching Balamory now..

Decluttering

I had the 'BEST' day yesterday. For months our house has been taken over by toys and i can't keep avoiding it, so i spent half of the day decluttering kids toys. Now i am very much satisfied...kata orang sedap sikit mata memandang. But till when??? hmmmm...time will tell...haha..

Sunday again..tomorrow back to the usual routine minus attending class because it's a week school holiday here in Denmark. We decided to stay indoor yesterday. Dear hubby was thinking of going to Lalandia this coming week but ibu malas nak pegi. LOL. Ala hubby, we go to Malmo sudah lah..lalandia next school holiday ok ok ok..

Ibu made heavy big breakfast for my lovely kids and guess what, licin! Yes they simply love such breakfast. Senang for ibu too..goreng2 aje. hehehe..but obviously cannot selalu eh..sesekali takpe.

Apart from sambal goreng pengantin and omelette, ibu made daging and ati tumis halia too..ala masak campak2..letak sikit coriander and cumin powder, abit of soya sauce, threw in long beans and spring oninos..viola ready! For dessert, we had bubur kacang hijau. Yumyum.

Beautiful bright sunny Saturday. Ibu made roti john and fried penne for our breakfast and, as usual using leftovers. Important to fill up your tummy before leaving the house kan kan...

Dhea is trying hard to put on her dress..hehe..try harder sayang. Nak gi mana? Grocery day again!!!..ibu nak cari tempe, tauhu & ati to make sambal goreng. Alhamdulillah rezekiku managed to grab the last tempe. With all the ingredients in hand..apalagi tomorrow's menu is sambal goreng!!! Insya'allah will puasa too tomorrow.

During parents get-together session

It was extremely busy day for me yesterday. Sampai rumah kul 1430, rest for ½ hr, picked up Dhea and waited for Danish (school busy pulak delayed for 45 mins) and then went straight to parents get together session at Dhea's school till 1900 hrs.

I have prepared curry puff (tunggu nak digoreng aje) tapi sebab Danish arrived in school at 1645, it was too late to go home and fry the curry puff. The session started at 1630 hrs. So dear hubby bought cakes instead. Takpelah janji ada bawak buah tangan kan..

I purposely didn't send the kids to school today because i have plan to bring them out. Pushing the twins buggy with approximately 27 kg of weight (kids alone) can be quite an exercise. But well..i am happy so long as the kids are happy. Off we went to Hellerup by train. Yes, Danish sure enjoyed his short ride (just 2 station away..hehe). At Nordhavn station while waiting for the train. Look at his expression..adik as usual maintain sayu. lol

Lunch time - Sushi! yummy yummy..she finished up the whole bowl.

They both dozed off even before we reached Hellerup station. Too tired i guess..it was raining when we left Sherry's house. Apa2 pun we selamat sampai ke rumah..it was a fun day afterall. Blessed!

Time-check, 0029 hrs now and i am still wide awake and updating the blog while doing some revision. Too much caffeinated!!!!

Yesterday he received a birthday gift from UK. Postman Pat dvd and Cars tee. He quickly requested us to switch on the dvd...simply can't wait till the next day. Postman Pat or Postman Per (as we called it here)..is his fav show. He is a happy boy..

Jalan2 Fields

On Sunday we jalan2 ke Fields together with Aya and family. The plan was just to buy some stuff from Matas and lunch at KFC..tapi dah gi fields ni termasuk pulak Bilka and terbeli pulak macam2..habis penuh satu trolley. Pening pening pening...
Penat berjalan..masa untuk makan...dah lama tak makan kfc..sedap pulak. Tengok tu gambar anak bujangku terselit kat family Haizan & Aya. Senyum mereng pulak tu..

Dah kenyang makan..dia pun melulu nak main car racing..ehhhh dia ingat free ke??? takpelah Danish main lah...dah kasi main 2 kali tak cukup pulak. Meraung satu fields dengar..ish ish anak sape ni??? lagi ibu pening pening pening...

Initial plan was to bring the kids to Østerbrohuset but then we headed to Waterfront instead for grocery shopping. Masuk2 Waterfront ternampak ada book fare...so apa lagi grabbed few books for the kids.

I am sick since last week, Thursday. Fever on and off. Blocked nose and massive headache. After battling for few days, i decided to go and see our family doctor. Doc said i am having bihuletændelse (sinusitis). It is the inflammation of the paranasal sinuses which due to infection. Mine was quite bad cause i can feel that my face is swollen and the ears and teeth hurt too. So, i am on antibiotics for 6 days and hopefully it will go away completely in a few days. Sigh!

He loves watching Postman Per and when asked what cake do you want. He will say chocolate cake, bubu. So this combination is just perfect for you sayang...chocolate cake with Postman Per theme. He was so happy to see his birthday cake.

Hectic week for ibu since this week is my turn to send Danish to school. He will be off to the cabin everyday at 0845 so it is important that we be there on time. Oh well with Danish's constantly stopped to watch the train and etc..we almost missed the school bus. *smile*

I am doing homework while every one else in the house is asleep. sigh! Though i do not have any classes tomorrow but i have deadline to send the online workshop by tomorrow before 12 noon. hmmmmm....

Read somewhere that says; while studying, get up regularly every 30 minutes or so..do some stretching or to ease the mind. I have to agree with that..and that's why i am updating my blog (an interval)..hehe.

I looked out the window and saw the roads are covered with snow again and now i am thinking whether i should send the kids to school tomorrow or just spend time with them..(ibu mood malas nak turun naik bus!). LOL. I guess it is about time i have to change my driving licence. *winks*

We have been looking around for an indoor playground for the kids and we just found out that Østerbrohuset has such facililites. It is indeed a great news for us since Østerbrohuset is just 2 mins away from our house. Cheap and convenient...with just 35 kr for the entrance fee and kids can play all day long.

Had a date with hubby as soon as we sent off the kids. We went to Fisketorvet. Hubby was in

good shopping mood. hehehe and guess who was the lucky one? Yes it's ME!!!! Thank you so much for the Viking gummi boots and fab dress and not forgetting our delicious lunch. I simply love 'em and of course i love you even more. muahahahaha..*sape baca jangan nak muntah ok*. LOL

On our way home we made a stop at Fullhouse to get fresh mussels. Thai style stir fried mussels and basil for our dinner. Really easy to make, all you need is garlic, red chilies, green chilies, oyster sauce, basilikum, mussels, water, sugar and salt. Tralalalalala..and it's ready but make sure you wash mussels properly.

Time is 22.27. Time to sleep...and i leave you all with this quote...good nite all. Sleep tite.

Salam all. The 1st day back to school after 2 weeks juleferie. Back to the normal routine, woke up at 0600 hrs, left the house at 0800 hrs to send Sofea and headed straight to school. Classes from 0900 till 1400 hrs. Rest for an hour or so before picking up the kids.

Ok enough of that. Above is a picture of our simple dinner yesterday. We had beef and beans burrito served with nachos and fresh salad. Pretty easy to make. If you don't feel like eating rice or noodles, why not try burritos..simply delicious! *winks*

We had home made Doner Kebab served on a pita bread and fries for brunch yesterday before headed to Central for grocery shopping. Initially we thought of bring the kids out for some fun at the playground but the weather was just too windy eventhough with bright sunshine. So another day spend in the house. Kids playing..hubby resting (since he was still unwell) and ibu catching up on my reading.

Simple NY celebration

We had a real simple new year's eve celebration. We decided to spend it jus the 4 of us. We started off by watching Queen Margrethe's new year message. Dronningens nytårstale 2010 (Queen's New Year Speech 2010)

Our dinner was simple, hearty and perfect for a new year's eve - indbagt oksemørbrad (baked beef tenderloin) with mushroom sauce and baked/boiled vegetables.

He was so happy when Mr Hubby gave him the kid's party set.

Bonding time with little princess.

AND she was too tired to wait till the fireworks...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz..

It was karaoke time for ibu and hubby when the kids dozed off. By the time we watched the fireworks, it was closed to 3am before we went to bed. Simple and relaxing celebration. Det var hyggeligt.

Risengrød aka rice pudding, a dish made from rice and milk and served with sprinkle of cinnamon sugar and butter. The kids love it.

When used as a dessert, it is commonly combined with a sweetener eg hot cherry sauce.

My kids were so excited to see the snow (macam first time pulak nampak!). Lil pumpkin said bu..sit sit, pointing at the window. Lil hero said see bubu...sne..meget sne!!! Kecoh betul kan bebudak ni..but layanz aje lah.

It was really cold yesterday and i was too lazy to go anywhere. Lazy to push the twins buggy around and lazy to put on the winter gear. Lazy lazy lazy..so we stayed indoor. Cian the kids..

Selamat pagi, Good morning and God morgen to everyone. It's the last week of Juleferie (Christmas Holiday) here in Denmark. I am enjoying it with the kids before going back to school next week. huhuhu..

This morning, ibu decided to make murtabak sardine using the leftovers from yesterday..as much as possible i will try not to waste any foods. As Gordon Ramsey's says, 'Nothing is wasted in my kitchen'.

Kids Loppemarked

I am thinking whether or not to join and open a stand for the kids loppemarked scheduled on 23 January at Østerbrohuset, just 2 mins away from my place. It is a good idea to sell off the kids old clothes, toys, accessories and etc. Hmmm...thinking cap ON.

What is today's menu? A simple grilled/baked lemon chicken with black pepper sauce, potatoes and salad. Insya'allah.

Another PJ Day? I don't think so...

Snow to ice

As we all know that glaciers are made up of snow that accumulates and eventually turns to ice (like in the mountains). But look at the pictures below...snow turns to ice at the rooftop. For safety purposes, the building maintenance has decided to block the area from pedestrians. see below pic - a much clearer shot.

Imagine if it fell on you..ishhhh diperjauhkan..

The roads is still very icy and there is still no sign of snowplow around. Very dangerous indeed. So till then, drive carefully peepz. *smile*

Despite the crappy forecast we have such a beautiful saturday morning. After snowing and gloomy weather for several days, finally the sun is out this morning although it's still pretty cold..as at 1200 hrs, the temperature is -8 deg. brrrrrrr...

Start the day with our yummy breakfast...Laksa and mee goreng instant. How about the kids? Ohh well...cereals for them...(",)

Unusual cold winter has gripped Denmark this year and snowstorm is expected today and tomorrow. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr....stay warm. Here are some pictures taken over the weekend. We went sledding with the kids at Fælledparken, about 5 mins drive from our place.
